I had surgery in January for the removal of old implants, breast reduction and lift along with new smaller implants. I have ripples of excess skin in my cleavage. How can this be remedied? Will I have to have a whole other lift done again?
Answer: Excess skin in cleavage. How can this be remedied? Thank you for your picture and questions. This can be a very difficult problem to fix and I would make sure you are seeing a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with experience in revision breast surgery. There may be less invasive options like fat transfer but in general, if there is truly skin excess, then it would usually require excision. Hope this helps! Dallas R. Answer: Excess skin Dear Bandit1031, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Cleavage Skin Issues Good afternoon! I perform well over 500 breast implant surgeries a year, many of them revisions, and I can tell you without a doubt this is one of the most difficult issues and one of the most difficult areas of the breasts to work on. The area is the most visible in public and the least forgiving. There is no standard "textbook" answer that fits every patient- it could involve skin lifting or removal, it could involve implant or pocket work, or some combination of all of these. I always goodheartedly make fun of other surgeons on this website who try to increase their exposure by posting BS answers to every single question "you should see a board certified plastic surgeon for a physical examination" and offer nothing more useful. I apologize if this seems like one of those answers because it really isn't- this is an actual situation that does require an in person consultation with a revision expert to figure out the proper steps forward.
