Can you continue lymphatic massages although you have suffered an open tummy tuck wound?

Hello and thank you for your question. If your physician said it is fine, then I wouldn't worry about it. However, you should see a certified lymphedema specialist or certified physical therapist. A massage performed by an unexperienced or unlicensed personnel may unintentionally hinder your healing process. I do not recommend going to a masseuse at a spa because they may not have the medical background to understand the risks.

Wounds can reopen after the surgery and your doctor must put stitches back so they close. With that said, you can still keep getting your massages without any fear. The recovery process is the most important part of the whole process, because it will determine your results.
Make sure that you receive your massages strictly from a professional physical therapist, who specializes in post surgical rehabilitation. Many people just go to a regular spa and don't receive proper massages.
