MCV is the most useful value used to classify the type of anemia based on red cell morphology. The reference range for MCV is 80-96 fL/red cell in adults; your statement that your MCV is low will be analyzed by your PS to determine the type of anemia you have and its treatment Leave it to his/her judgment to approve/disapprove proceeding with the BBL.
