Hair Transplant using hair dryer/hot air 10 days post op damage grafts?

Question

I used a hair dryer on the warm/hot setting 10 days post op from hair transplant on recipient site. Did this damage the transplanted hair? I used it for about ten minutes to dry my hair after washing it. I was told after ten days its healed but now im worried.

There should be no issues with combing your hair or blow drying your hair 10 days after surgery.  Hot air setting should be fine unless it is so hot it burns your skin.

your question.  Typically, when patients
hit the 10 day post op mark, grafts are permanent and secure.  Using hair products and blow drying as you did before will not cause damage to your
transplanted hair.  However it would
still be wise to avoid exposure of grafted areas to higher levels of heat from
a close range.  It’s safer to use mild
temperatures.

By ten days, the grafts should be sufficiently healed to withstand a hair drier.  However, you should always check with your surgeon for his/her personal preferences.

You should be fine. In general once your scabs/crusts are gone you can resume using gels, oils, dryers, etc. within moderation and not worry about harming your grafts. Even if you're still having some crusting I doubt one drying session will affect things.

If there are no crusts present and it is 10 days since you had the hair transplant, then blow drying your hair should not be a problem
