How soon can I be seen in public after a fat transfer to tear troughs?

Great question.  Swelling will range from person to person and the area of transfer and volume.  For one week you will have noticeable swelling.  After this, some swelling could persist for a few more weeks. 

Most people are swollen and sometimes bruised for about 10-14 days.  You may notice this more than anyone else.  Just put on some glasses and they probably won't see anything.  

It will take typically 1-2 weeks before you can be seen in public with out anyone noticing. It make take longer if you have significant bruising. After 2 weeks you should be able to wear make up and cover most of the bruising though. As always, follow the instructions your surgeon gave you. Good luck

Swelling usually is better after 1 to 2 weeks after the
procedure. The bruising can be present for a similar time period.



By 6 weeks you should have a steady outcome.



Finally, make sure that you have a
consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in eyelids
and fat grafting.

Typically there is significant welling and/or bruising for at least one to two weeks, which would be the minimum amount of time to plan to not be in public if this is your concern.  In a majority of cases, not all, after two weeks most of the signs of the procedure can be disguised with makeup.

As a general rule, the amount of "puffiness" one has will depend on the amount of fat injected, the skill of the injector as well as the depth of the injections. Deep injections for the tear trough area should yield minimal swelling and days of recovery rather than weeks. Lip injections are a whole different matter and could take weeks until you have "plausible deniability."
