Is it true that facial fillers stretches out the skin overtime causing sagging. And does it never fully dissolve causing it to migrate throughout the face?

When injectable fillers are administered by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist, they will not migrate from the treatment location. The fillers also do not stretch the skin, as there is not enough of the product injected to create skin laxity. That said, these treatments do require precision, expertise, and an artistic eye to produce the best possible results. Make sure you are working with a qualified physician and you should see very good results.

Hello and thank you for your question! Fillers do not cause stretching of the skin. I recommend using a HA (hyaluronic acid) filler that can be dissolved. Improper placement of fillers in certain areas could cause migration. This is commonly observed around the eyes. I appreciate your concern, however facial fillers, injected by expert board-certified plastic surgeons or dermatologists in appropriate locations, does not cause skin sagging over time. Also, most of the popular fillers, like Juvéderm are organic, and dissolve overtime, depending upon the exact type of filler. Only permanent fillers like silicone, can migrate over time and cause issues. For this reason, most doctors in the United States do not use silicone anymore. No, facial fillers do not cause any stretching of the skin.  Fillers will help to naturally lift skin that has lost elasticity.  Some fillers which cause collagen stimulation such as sculptra and bellafill are longer lasting.  Even so, aging continues with bone, fat and collagen loss over time.  Hence, tweaking the fillers periodically can help keep the volume in one's face restored.  Hyaluronic acid fillers also help with hydration of the skin.  Using a procedure to help restore dropping collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid levels in the skin such as ultrasound, RF or lasers is also highly recommended.

Facials fillers should not stretch out the skin causing sagging; however, they do not stop the natural aging process. Over time as you age, you will begin to lose elasticity and collagen which will result in sagging skin. FDA approved fillers such as Juvederm products are able to be dissolved and do not migrate throughout the face. Silicone based products can migrate and are permanent. Hope this helps!

Facial fillers will not stretch out the skin abnormally when properly placed. You will obviously continue to age, so even though they do not cause skin sagging, you may see natural skin sagging over time due to the natural aging process. Fillers, properly performed, do not stretch the skin. They must be used judiciously.   They do not stop the aging process from continuing. Fillers do not migrate.   Silicone, which is illegal, does migrate and can cause disfigurement.
