Hi I am very interested in getting a rhinoplasty but I am also very conscious about my intermolecular eye distance . Can a rhinoplasty bring your eyes closer together or make them seem like they are
Answer: Eyes look closer together when the nasal bridge is raised. Rhinoplasty does not change the distance between the eyes. However, altering the height of the bridge of the nose can create the appearance or illusion of changes to eye spacing. This is most noticeable when the nasal bridge is augmented, or raised, with grafts (using your own cartilage, most commonly from the septum or ear, occasionally from the rib). When the bridge is raised (so-called dorsal augmentation), the eyes appear to be closer together. This is noted commonly in Asian rhinoplasty with dorsal augmentation. Conversely, the eyes may appear more widely spaced when a dorsal hump (a bump on the bridge of the nose) is lowered. But this change is generally more subtle than that with dorsal augmentation. Interesting question. Good luck.

Answer: Rhinoplasty and distance between eyes... Rhinoplasty does not really change the distance between the eyes, but it can make them seem like they are closer if a big hump is taken down. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty specialist and discuss these questions with him/her at the consultation.

Answer: Eye Distance and Rhinoplasty Yes but... Rhinoplasty alone does not technically change either the intercanthal (distance between the inner aspects of the eye) or interpupillary (distance between the pupils) distance. These distances are only changed during complex craniofacial procedures including fronto-orbital advancement and facial bipartition. However, changes to the nose CAN give the APPEARANCE of either bringing the eyes closer together or moving them farther apart. This must be considered in any rhinoplasty surgical plan.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty , some advices: Thank you very much for sharing your concerns with us.The harmony between facial parts makes us instinctively recognize the beauty... without knowing it, without defining it, just a perception that surprises and captivates us.In this regard, I suggest perform a Closed Rhinoplasty (without visible scars) to treat the tip, base and nasal bridge. With this procedure you get a delicate nose, better harmonize with your other facial features.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
