When is it OK to go in sauna after rhinoplasty?

I underwent open rhinoplasty 36 days ago. I feel like I've made great progress but still feel like I'm swollen internally. Now, when will it be ok for me to go inside a sauna and will this alleviate swelling in any way? Thanks.

It is probably safe at this point in your postoperative course to go into the sauna. Keep in mind that exposing the nose to excessive heat can increase the swelling in your nose.  I would certainly check with your rhinoplasty surgeon to see if they think that it is reasonable for you to do this.

By 5-6 weeks your are probably ok to go into a sauna, but it is always a good idea to have your surgeon's OK.  Best of luck.
