My nose just seems to have fat on each side of it. I'm ok with the shape of my nose, not the size or volume. When I pull down with index fingers on each side I see the nose I want. Will lipo achieve these results or is this still considered Rhinoplasty? I feel if I just had the nose "bone" and skin I'd be happy. Plus the horizontal crease on my bridge, how can I get rid of that? I just don't want to drastically change my look.
Answer: Wide nose No, liposuction is not an option for the nose nor is it needed. Without a side view, it is difficult to discuss your specific case. However, it appears that you have a low dorsum, which leads to the widened appearance. The solution would be to augment your bridge of the nose to create a narrow appearance by stretching the thick skin and to create favorable sidewall shadowing, which will lead to a narrowed appearnce. The functional benefit would be that your nasal breathing will not get compromised as you would likely not need osteotomies to narrow your nose and if osteomtomies are needed, they should be done very conservatively. I recommend you see an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for a proper consultation with a customized approach to your needs. Good luck!

Answer: Can one get Lipo on their nose? Thank you for your question. It is difficult to advice you without a physical examination but based on the photos that you kindly attached, the nose seems to have a slightly wide base and therefore to give the effect of "slimming" of your nose, you might have to consider a reduction of the width and possibly building the bridge. My advice would be to see an experienced surgeon, explain to him/her your expectations and see what they would recommend.Best wishes,Andrea Marando

Answer: Narrowing a wide nose Closed rhinoplasty techniques can accomplish narrowing a wide nose. A wide nose is narrowed with osteotomies applied to the nasal bones. In many cases, cartilage grafting techniques are placed across the bridge of the nose to give added height, which gives the illusion of more narrowing. Thick skin will be an impediment to seeing a very refined result. There is no fat located in the nose, so liposuction will be of no benefit. For many examples of narrowing a wide nose, please see the link and the video below

Answer: Can one get Lipo on their nose? No, liposuction would not create any change as there isn't a fat layer inside the nose. At that area of the nose, shown in the attached picture, there is skin, nasal muscle, bone covering and bone. The excess (lump) is most likely callous from some minor nasal trauma to the nasal bone...this would require rasping with a nasal rasp to reduce through a Rhinoplasty type incision and exposure. Hope this helps.
