Best facial filler enhancements for hollow tear troughs and fine lines?

Hi there, age 36 female looking for suggestions on facial filler enhancements or other less intrusive procedures. Posting a pic with makeup and one without, both in natural bright daylight, no filters. I’ve had Botox a few times in my forehead/brow/eye and 1x I had .5ml lip filler which is basically dissolved now. The no makeup is an early morning but I recognize my tear troughs are a bit hollowed and fine lines :)

I would not suggest going overboard with any treatment. A conservative amount of a proper robust HA filler injected in the appropriate upper cheek location support the under eye area is very likely to give rise to the kind of improvement in the tear trough/hollow region that is desired. This is a case of less is more and you should make certain that you are consulting with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.

Hello, and thank you for providing photos along with your question. Based on these images, you do appear to have minor hollowing under the eyes, making you an ideal candidate for tear trough filler. By injecting small amounts of filler around the tear trough, the skin will become plump and supple, lifting the skin and smoothing out the visible groove in the skin.

However, there are other options to consider as well. Fillers, lasers, Profound RF (RF microneedling), and other procedures that stimulate collagen production can be very effective in refreshing the skin around the eyes. To determine the best treatment for you, schedule an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with an extensive experience with injectables. Your surgeon can do a proper evaluation, customize the best treatment plan, and ensure the best possible outcome.

Fillers like Belotero, Volbella, and Restylane Silk are good for improving under the eyes, but keep in mind that a combination approach will give the most improvement. My patients try to get non-surgical treatments to avoid surgery, so we use fillers, lasers, microneedling/PRP and stem cells. There are quite a few options to treat tear trough hollowness and fine lines. Dermal fillers may be a good option but that can only be determined after examining your face and checking for skin laxity and other fat/bone losses in the midface that may aggravate tear troughs. It would be best for you to see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon in person for an evaluation of how your face moves, check the skin and structures of the face under different lighting, and to talk about your goals.  Fillers are usually a good option to start with, along with some preventative neurotoxins such as Botox, Xeomin, or Jeuveau. From your photos it appears a conservative amount of tear trough filler should address your concern.  You have youthful eyes, so don't be too aggressive and risk overdoing it.  I encourage you to consider  skin treatments such as Morpheus8 to keep your healthy skin tone and texture.  We also recommend using medical grade skin care products and wearing sunscreen every day.

The aging of which you speak does not come across in the phots where your eye look youthful.  Fortunately, there are many options so there is no one best filler for this purpose.  I would recommend a hyaluronic acid filler such as a Restylane family of products that is temporary and called be dissolved if overcorrected.  The least invasive would be PRP with or without microneedling and a good choice in your case.

There is simply no better filler for the use in the face than your own fat. I would never recommend that a patient of mine have any filler in the tear trough besides their own fat. Using one’s fat is NO more invasive than injecting a filler because exactly the same cannulas are being used. The other benefit of fat grafting is that the results are natural and permanent with fewer complications. However you must find a plastic surgeon who is extremely experienced in such procedures.
