Facelift for Young Adult (Age 21), Too Young?

To me this suggests a global dissatisfaction with your appearance.  At your age this points to body image concerns although you may very well have a discrete facial appearance issue.  I am always concerned when individuals present but lack a clear idea of what they are looking for.  There is a risk to you of being taken advantage of in this situation.  I would recommend avoiding cosmetic surgery unless an until you have a very clear idea of what your concerns are.  Surgery is not a substitute for therapy and the wrong surgery can make you feel even worse.

Thank you for your question! I am sure you  don't need a facelift, as you can't have loose skin at your age. Please, don't forget that this is a surgery, supposed to deal  with severe signs of aging. I think the good idea for you may be liposuction of  your neck and jawline. After the fat will go and your skin shrink, you can have perfect result. As you are very young and have good elasticity of the skin, your skin is sure to shrink well.My best advise is to choose an honest and trustworthy doctor. In my professional opinion, 21 years old is far too
young to be considering a facelift surgery. Such a procedure is reserved for
patients who exhibit severe signs of aging, and who will benefit from
tightening loose, elastic skin. In your case, injectable fillers would probably
be the best option. If this solution doesn’t fulfill your expectations, you can then
progress to more intensive treatments like a fat transfer to add volume to
areas of your face that are hollowed.

If you want to improve your contours, you may want to consider fillers. Injectable fillers can help add volume where you find is deficient. However, if the jawline is your concern, you may want to consider Botox to relax the masseter muscles.

The need of a facelift at your age is very unlikely, but photos are needed to asses. If lower facial fullness is your biggest concern, strongly consider some face/neck liposuction to sculpt these areas.

I feel fairly confident in saying that you probably don't need a facelift at the age of 21. If there are are features of your face that you do not like however there may be things that can help you.   While age is not a be all or end all factor, you are awfully young at 21 to be considering a lifting procedure.  Without seeing photos, it is hard to make any kind of decision.  However, you certainly may look to facial fillers to give you the results you are seeking.

 

At your age, I would not recommend a facelift since most people you age do not have excess skin or poor elasticity,  the main reasons why older women want a mini facelift  procedure. Without a photo or an exam it is impossible to give specific advice, but it is possible that simple liposuction in the jowl and/or submental area may be appropriate for you.

Likely yes. It is highly unusual that a young person in that age group needs a facelift where soft tissue is repositioned. It is more likely that there are skeletal factors such as a receded chin or cheek that needs to be addressed via other techniques such as chin implants. Yes, facelift is not an option.  If you are concerned because your lower jaw is too "fat", the more appropriate options would be liposuction.  We also use a laser to help the skin tighten some is there is skin laxity.  Another possibility is that the masseter muscles may be too big and small amounts of Botox may help.  I would recommend you see a Plastic Surgeon who specializes in Facial Surgery.
