Rytids are wrinkles and they are part of the aging process. Botoxusually works well on wrinkles. Check out the link below to an article I wrote about Our Aging Face. Good luck!
Rhytids are facial wrinkles, and they come in two forms:Static -- there at rest.Dynamic -- there only when moving the faceBotox is a great treatment for dynamic wrinkles because it relaxes the muscles that cause movement. Lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movement (dynamic wrinkles) can deepen and remain present even when the face is relaxed (static rhytids), often as a result of repeated facial expressions like smiling and squinting.Skin resurfacing procedures (e.g. lasers and chemical peels) are best for static rhytids.I hope this helps!
Rhytid is a name for wrinkle, in medical terminology. Rhytidsdevelop as a result of repeated muscle movement combined with collagen loss, often seen with aging. Botox works great on wrinkles or rhytids by helping relaxthe muscle associated with the crease. Wrinkles present at rest, known asstatic lines, are diminished with repeat treatments of Botox. Wrinkles presentwith movement, called dynamic lines, are softened with Botox treatments.
A rhytid is a medical term for a wrinkle. Botox generally works of dynamic (movement) wrinkles and can reduce the appearance of static (resting) wrinkles by decreasing muscle movement and muscle tone. The relaxation of the muscles leads to less creasing and over time continued improvement in the size and depth of lines.
Botox can soften facial lines of animation and are most commonly used on the upper 1/3 of the face. If the ones are deep they may not flatten completely.
Rhytids is just a medical term for wrinkles. Botox works on dynamic ones, i.e. those that move and are more prevalent as the muscles work, but not on static ones that simply are there and do not move the muscle action
Rhytids are the lines created from dynamic facial movement (smiling, frowning etc). Botox administered in the appropriate location with the appropriate amounts should reduce or eliminate the rhytids.
I typically like to wait 2 weeks before I inject more Botox since the full result takes a bit longer. Best, Dr. Green
The Botox may have been injected along the sides of the upper portion of your nose to treat some wrinkles in that area. That area may have swelled or bruised from the injection. If the Botox was injected between your eyebrows, it would not "travel" to your nose although swelling could migrate...
Based on your photograph, you could probably benefit from masseter injections to decrease the volume of your masseter muscle along your jawline. I usually start with 20 Botox units per side for jaw line contouring. More can be added at a follow up appointment if needed. Without feeling the ...
