What is a rough estimate on when I can return to my exercising?

I have finally reached a point in my life where I can't go very long without exercising - it's part of my life now; with that said I will be having a body lift done in April & I am fearful of how long I cannot exercise after my surgery. I know each patient heals at a different pace, but what is a rough estimate on when I can return to my beloved exercising?

Most patients undergoing a body lift procedure will be ready to start lift exercise at 3-4 weeks.Most patients will be allowed to regular, unrestricted activity at 4-6 weeks, depending on how the individual heals.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Congratulations on undergoing a 360 bodylift.  Hopefully it will be a life-changing surgery. As you know this procedure Will get rid of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, saddle  bags and buttocks.  You're correct. Everyone heals differently from this surgery.  On average, patients should be able to exercise approximately 3 to 4 weeks after their 360 circumferential lower body lift.  At first, exercise will be walking or perhaps even treadmill.  After another two weeks, patients may be allowed to run and even do a stationary bike. I should stress that every patient is different and this is only a rough guideline. Good luck.

general, one can begin fully exercising at 4 weeks after wound healing has been
maximized. At 6 weeks, you can resume aggressive abdominal wall exercising.

If you are undergoing a circumferential body lift, I would recommend holding off on exercise for 6-8 weeks.  After this time period, I generally advise resuming your exercise regimen gradually. I encourage my patients to start gentle walking exercise as soon as possible after surgery. Typically, I allow patients to start progressively increasing their activity starting at two weeks post op. They usually return to unrestricted activity in 6-8 weeks. Good luck with your surgery!

You need to follow the directions of your particular surgeon, not someone on the internet. But for a reference, we let our patients start walking for exercise at two weeks if they are comfortable and avoid any core work for 8 weeks.
