I'm 52 and last year (2018) I went from about 148 lbs to 114 lbs (due to a stressful event) within a span of about 7 months [I'm 5' 6 1/2" for reference]. I would really like to get rid of my excess rippling/sagging neck skin and I hope that a less invasive procedure with less stitches would be enough to address this and correct with some localized skin removal ( I don't mind a faint scar) and/or a minimally invasive 'mini neck-lift' aka the 'SIMI'. Thank you so much!
Answer: Mini lift You would be an excellent candidate for a surgical or non-surgical tightening procedure, and the choice of those would depend on your realistic goals and expectations. All of these options could be mentioned in consultation. To ensure you are receiving the highest level of care, seek out a modernly trained, new-school dermatologic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who is board certified and fellowship trained in one of these “core four” cosmetic specialties. Membership in organizations like the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery help to identify a highly trained surgeon.Cameron Chesnut #realself hall of fame Physician

Answer: Neck lift A facelift is often combined with a neck lift to lift sagging tissues and restore volume to the face. There are many types of facelifts with sometimes different names describing the same procedure. The most important aspect of a facelift/neck lift is to address the underlying tissue, called the SMAS. Many of the other nuances of facelifting do not make a great difference in the ultimate outcomes. There are alternatives to the traditional facelift/neck lift. These include radiofrequency tightening technology, thread lifting, submental platysmaplasty, and occasionally filler and neurotoxin. The non-surgical options are less invasive but offer a less dramatic outcome and often are shorter lasting. Gary Linkov, MD Manhattan

Answer: Options for excess neck skin Thank you for your inquiry and for attaching photos. In my opinion there is not a non-invasive procedure that is going to deliver the results you are looking to achieve. For the best results my recommendation would be a face/neck lift to tighten the neck muscles, tighten the excess skin of the neck, improve the jowls and give you a more youthful and defined jaw line. The mini-lifts are not great options and I tell patients "mini-lift" "mini" results. A mini lift will not tighten the muscles in the neck. I would certainly recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who is a member of ASAPS. Additionally you would want to find a surgeon who specializes in face lifts/ facial rejuvenation procedures. Best of luck.

Answer: Sagging rippling Thank you for your question; After reviewing your pictures seems to me that you don’t look that bad now but the more time pass and if you loss more weight that condition just gets worse. Now you have a condition of skin excess and skin elasticity but you also have a problem of the muscles under your neck that no minimal invasive alternatives will correct. I advise you to have a neck lift that is going to solve your problem in a more permanent bases and also with better results.
