I had a full Tummy Tuck with muscle repair. I still have fat where my flanks was liposuction and my incision on the right side does not look flat. I am disproportioned on my right side hip that was liposuctioned. I am three months postop.
Answer: 3 months post op TT, is this my final result? Do I need a revision? Thank you for your question and photos. It looks like you had a standard tummy tuck with minimal liposuction at best. This type of surgery of body contouring did evolve over the last 30-40 years, but your surgeon did not keep up with the techniques or learning curve how to get a great harmonious abdomen and body. You had a poorly designed 2D operation, most of us do a 3D body sculpting operation to give you a feminine, hourglass and youthful body. You did not post preop photos, but it is possible that you would've done better with a two stage process to avoid the results you ended up with. You are not fully healed, but I do not believe that you will improve much in shape. Your umbilicus is pulled too low and your incision is too high. You would benefit from a redo operation (not a revision!). If you were my patient, I would do liposuction of your whole back, waist, hips, full abdomen, rib cage and move your abdominoplasty incision to a low pubic bone level. There's no view of your back, but I believe you would benefit from fat grafting to the buttocks.See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Tummy tuck While you will not see your final results until 9-12 months after surgery, now is the time that you can begin resuming exercise to help enhance your surgical results. Check with your surgeon on the best way to approach this. If after you are fully healed you still have concerns, you can return to your surgeon to address areas of fullness.

Answer: FINAL RESULTS POST TT Just like every operation, you need to be patient before you can appreciate the “final” results. Of course, those who have significant problems prior to surgery, will almost immediately be able to see a massive change after surgery. This is despite all the swelling and discomfort. However, certainly by 6 weeks once you slowly start to get back to doing your normal activities you’ll be appreciating things much more. But you still have a long way to go. Most of the swelling and pains and tightness should have resolved by 6 months. This is when you could say life has pretty much gotten back to normal and you’ve basically forgotten you’ve had it done, except for the fact that you’re looking and feeling much better. But the scar hasn’t matured and ideally faded until at least 12 months, although you can continue to experience some scar improvements for up to 2 years. Of course, the scar, like all scars, never goes away.

Answer: 3 months post op TT, is this my final result? Do I need a revision?(photos) Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. I suggest my patients to a compression garment, 24/7 for the first 4 weeks, to get the best results. It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery. Please, follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)
