I am 5 weeks post-op and it seems that incision under my right breast is not healing properly if compared to my left one. My surgeon told me I need to put on some tape and and move the wound edges closer to each other so it could heal better. Do I really need to just "squeeze" the skin together and put on the tape? Is the scar gonna look ugly now? I am really nervous...

Answer: Scarring Thank you for your question. Typically scars take up to a year and a half to heal completely. Using certain scar creams will be helpful. I typically recommend using Biocornium cream. If we fast forward to a year or so down the road and your still not happy you can always discuss having a scar revision. I would suggest giving it a little more time and then discussing with your surgeon.

Answer: Wound separation It does appear as if you have some wound separation on the right side. Putting tape on is intended to "splint" and support the scar. Once our patient's wounds have completely healed, we have them begin applying scar cream to help the scar mature. You might check with your surgeon to see if this is something they recommend.

Answer: Breast Augmentation Recovery I appreciate your concern, however it does appear that while you’re healing on that side is a bit s squid123. I appreciate your concern, however it does appear that while your healing on that side is a bit slower I do not see any reason for concern. It is best to follow the advice of the plastic surgeon that performed your surgery as he or she has the most details and information about your particular case. It takes a whole year for your scars to mature and I’m sure your surgeon will also counsel you regarding scar care.Good luck.
