Am on medication for blodd presure it is fine/normal when I take the readings at home. At my gps and my assesment it was high.When I got home from my assesment my readings were normal.The nurse took my readings that I have done over the weeks to give to the anthisit.

Thank you for sharing your question.  A number of patients will experience an elevation in their blood pressure when seeing their doctor but if your other measurements are within normal limits there is no additional risk to you with surgery.  Hope this helps.

Congratulations on your upcoming procedure.  This is much more common that you may realize.  You are doing all the right things to prepare for surgery in seeing your primary physician prior to surgery.  I would recommend continuing to work with your surgeon and primary physician in order to prepare for surgery.

Usually, blood pressure is taken several times to avoid white coat syndrome. It is completely normal and common to be nervous before any surgery.Making sure you are medically cleared and comfortable with your surgeon is important. Have as many visits and discussions as needed with your doctors.

If your blood pressure is well regulated then it should be OK to go ahead with surgery if your medical doctor has cleared you.. This is  not an uncommon thing. Good luck.
