I am in a compression garment and I am miserable in this garment. Any suggestions to ease my comfort during recovery?

Please touch base with your surgeon. He or she is most familiar with your surgery and if you need to worry about your garment being too tight. Garments should feel snug and supportive, and although many patients feel itchy or claustrophobic, you shouldn’t have outright pain due to tightness. If your garment is leaving dents or tracks in your skin, it may be too small. 

Hello,Thank you for your question. You can expect the majority of your swelling to resolve within 2 weeks, and residual swelling to last at least a few months. You should start to notice an improvement soon. I recommend that you contact your surgeon so that they can advise you about garment options.All the best 

I prefer an adjustable garment that can be tightened and loosened as swelling changes.   This provides differential compression.  I would ask your PS as the BBL results vary greatly as do methods employed. Stay positive; swelling after a TT usually lasts 3 to 6 months, but most of the swelling is gone after a few weeks.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

pcrutti.    Your garment may be the wrong size!  Compression garments should be snug, not tight and they should actually provide support, not extreme discomfort.  Have your surgeon evaluate you and your garment because an overly tight garment can create problems.  Good luck!
