I feel I have a bad result and the contour is awful. I'm 5'4 150 pounds and the same weight before the tummy tuck, maybe 2-3 pounds less. I believe not enough was removed and not enough Lipo was performed. Do I need a complete revision? Another tummy tuck? Or some aggressive Lipo? Or all of the above? Also, how bad do you feel this result is? Sorry I don't have before pics but there wasn't much difference.
Answer: Tummy Tuck - Revision Hi thank you for your question, To achieve a curvier body and a well defined waist, I suggest you a full tummy tuck revision, this procedure will not only remove the extra skin on your abdomen but as well on the sides, the key in this procedure is the muscle repair that will give you a flatter abdomen and a defined waist, (if hemoglobin levels are in a good range) I will add liposuction to your love-handles, waist and fat transfer to your buttocks, after this surgery you will end up with a great body. To prevent complication risks during your recovery I will encourage you to loose some pounds before your surgery. Visit my profile and Facebook page for results and prior patients' experiences. Be encouraged! ~Dr. Cardenas

Answer: Tummy Tuck outcome Hello!I would recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon in person. (plasticsurgery.org) Your abdominal fullness could be limited by fat you carry inside your abdomen. It is possible that the incision/excision of tissue may be extended toward the back to take care of your dogears at the end of your incisions. I would recommend you bring your operative report to your consultation, as well as preoperative photos.Best of luck!

Answer: How can this Tummy Tuck be fixed? (photo) Thank you for posting your photos with your interesting question. It appears that you have some excess skin, subcutaneous fat and possibly muscle laxity. It would be interesting to see your before photographs too. I recommend that you have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who is experienced in tummy tucks and revisions. At the time of your consultation, you will be examined to determine if the abdominal fullness is due to persistent laxity of the abdominal rectus muscles or intra abdominal fat behind the abdominal muscles producing the fullness. If there is laxity of the abdominal rectus muscles, they can be plicated or sutured together more aggressively in the midline. The excess skin can be removed and additional liposuction will also help create more of a waistline to produce the results that you are looking for. Carefully reviewed the plastic surgeons before and after results, before you proceed. Best wishes, Richard Wellington Swift.M.D.

Answer: Limitations of a tummy tuck I am sorry that you are unhappy with your tummy tuck results. There are limitations based on many factors including your height/weight ratio, skin laxity, thickness of abdominal tissue, etc.. What you are pulling on laterally is not treated by a standard tummy tuck but can be by either an extended or circumferential procedure. Girth is also related to the amount of visceral( internal fat over the organs) that you have as well. If the abdominal subq layer is thick then perhaps lipo can help thin that out as well.

Answer: Revision tummy tuck Hello and thank you for your question. I agree that you did not get an optimum result. However having not seen the before photos I cannot say that at that time better could have been obtained. At this point however I do believe that in order to obtain optimum results you should try to lose 10 to 15 pounds. At that point a repeat tummy tuck possibly extended with aggressive liposuction and redo bbl should considerably improve your results. Good luck.Peter Fisher M.D
