What problems can I expect the 2nd time around for Liposuction?

Liposuction revision should be performed by a specialist as should fat grafting.  I
would search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel is
most likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds of
these procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well as

Thank you for the excellent question. It is safe to consider liposuction in the same area. The techniques available would be the same and your results should be unaffected, depending on the scar present. I would suggest that you consider the procedure.  Generally the issue is more for the surgeon then for you. If laser assisted liposuction was used a revision can be quite difficult. There is no problem using fat from a revised area if it is harvested properly.

This is a great question. I often perform secondary liposuctions, although there is more scar tissue the second time around so generally less fat can be removed. The fat that is removed can definitely be grafted elsewhere. I recommend you visit with a board-certified plastic surgeon to determine the best coarse of treatment for you. 

A secondary liposuction can be more difficult due to scar tissue.  Certainly the fat can be used to graft the buttock.  Best of luck.

You should not expect any problems as long as there is a reasonable amount of fat in the areas for liposuction. Since it has been 12 years from your first liposuction, your skin may not be as elastic. As a balloon loses air, the balloon envelope develops wrinkles. The same can happen to your skin.Weight loss, weight gain and pregnancies may affect skin elasticity. Best wishes!

The answer depends on whether you are doing the same areas or not. Occasionally the areas that were treated before are more difficult to suction second time. As of using your fat for buttocks augmentation - it depends on the particular amount of fat that available and needed to achieve desired result. 

It has not been my experience that there have been any problems when you do more liposuction on the same individual who has had it done in the past. One would think that there would be a lot of scar tissue build up and make it more challenging (like doing a secondary rhinoplasty) but I have not seen this. You surgery and recovery should be similar to the first time.
