Hi. I am a 46 year old woman, had two c sections. I am fit and healthy, 5,4 foot and weigh 55kg. Despite all of the exercise I do I am left with a layer of fat and some loose skin. Two Vaser surgeons say that they believe I can get a good result frm Vaser lipo but may be left with loose skin. A tummy tuck surgeon said I am not a candidate for lipo as I am thin and that it wll.leave a lot of scarring under the skin and that makes doing tummy tucks difficult. Please advise Thaks
Answer: Sagging skin and scarring : several options including Vaser liposuction and Renuvion / J plasma or Body tite/ Morpheus 8 Hi, Thanks for your question. Unfortunately I am not able to see your pictures in order to give a more accurate answer. It is important to perform a detailed medical and surgical assessment where the surgeon is able to give you several options ( surgical and non surgical). The key here is to understand what you would like to achieve, what are your expectations. In my clinical practice, if a patient refuses to undergo for tummy tuck surgery, then after a careful medical assessment, they could be a possible candidate for Vaser liposuction for the circumferential torso, abdomen, flanks and lower back ( 360 degree approach) in order to improve the overall silhouette and body contour. A combination of Vaser lipo with J plasma- Reunuvion or Bodytite/ Morpheus 8 will allow to increase the probability of skin tightening and so reduce more the risk of "saggy" skin. Aftercare recommendations including healthy diet and exercise can also help. However, your saggy/excess skin in the abdomen and possible "muscle separation" will not improve and so if you are unhappy after 4-6 months then you should consider surgical treatment to remove the excess of loose skin. I would recommend to make an appointment with an expert body contouring surgeon for a medical/surgical assessment in order to make a bespoke surgical treatment. Best Wishes, Dr Giuseppe Fiore

Answer: Vaser & Renuvion Thank you for your question. Vaser Liposuction is great for removing excess fat. The Vaser technology melts the fat before removal, giving you smoother results. Liposuction can leave loose skin. That's where skin tightening with Renuvion comes in. Renuvion helps tightens the skin giving you better long-lasting results. Both combined give great results by removing excess fat and tightening the skin.

Answer: VASER vs Tummy tuck. I am a VASER surgeon, I use VASER in every liposuction, and I love the results. However, I can tell you that VASER is not a substitute for Tummy tuck. It will depend on the amount of the skin and its laxity. Then, if I see skin excess or muscle laxity, I suggest Tummy tuck. Only if the patient refuses the tummy tuck (for whatever reason the patient has), I suggest VASER. But we discuss about the risk of some residual laxity. However, they can always have a tummy tuck afterward (about a year after the surgery) without big issues. I hope this question is of some help

Answer: Sagging and scarring after lipo Based on your explanations and your data regarding your height and weight it looks like you are a good candidate for both Lipo and/or Tummy tuck depending on the degree of skin excess. You would likely benefit from a high definition tummy tuck using high definition VASER liposuction. The tummy tuck procedure would comprehensively remove excess skin and fat in the abdominal region. The abdominal muscle would also be 'tightened' to create the appearance of a flatter stomach. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a tummy tuck specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
