Hello, I had gyno surgery about a year ago. I developed a seroma post op which caused a thick band of scar tissue. My PS did revision surgery about 3 months ago, however there is still some scar tissue that is left from the seroma. I consulted another PS to see what they thought. They said that vaser liposuction would remove the leftover scar tissue. Would vaser be a viablle treatment option to remove scar tissue?
Answer: Using Vaser Liposuction for Scar Tissue Removal Indeed, Vaser liposuction can effectively break up scar tissue formed from a pre-existing seroma. Vaser uses sound energy to disrupt and disintegrate scar tissue, making it an excellent tool for addressing adhesions from previous surgeries or liposuctions, and accumulated scar tissue from causes like seromas. Therefore, I would highly recommend considering Vaser liposuction for scar tissue removal associated with a seroma. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Exploring Vaser Liposuction as a Solution for Scar Tissue Removal After Gyno Surgery Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns regarding the scar tissue left from the seroma post-gyno surgery. I understand that dealing with residual scar tissue can be challenging, and it's essential to explore potential treatment options. Vaser liposuction is known for its ability to target and remove excess fat tissue, but its effectiveness in treating scar tissue can vary. Vaser liposuction primarily addresses fat deposits through ultrasound technology, and its impact on scar tissue may be limited. Before considering vaser liposuction for scar tissue removal, it's crucial to consult with a board-certified vaser surgeon or a qualified medical professional who can thoroughly assess your specific case. They can provide a more accurate evaluation of whether vaser liposuction is a viable option for addressing the leftover scar tissue from the seroma. In some cases, alternative treatments such as laser therapy or surgical excision may be recommended to target scar tissue more directly. The choice of treatment will depend on the nature and extent of the scar tissue. I strongly recommend scheduling a consultation with a qualified surgeon to discuss your concerns, review your medical history, and determine the most appropriate course of action tailored to your unique situation. I wish you the best in finding a suitable solution for your concerns, and I hope you achieve the results you desire.

Answer: Scar removal by VASER the answer is yes. Also depending on in-person examination, There might be other solutions as well like total excision. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Scar tissue, gynecomastia surgery and seromas I think the first and foremost question is if you have a chronic saroma or not. If you have a chronic ceremo with encapsulation then that needs to be managed first and foremost. Sometimes that word scar tissue is simply a scapegoat for surgeons not taking responsibility for the outcome of a procedure when patients are not happy with the results. Having had two surgeries already you definitely have a buildup of scar tissue and doing a third operation will just create more scar tissue. If scar tissue is the problem then doing more liposuction will only make it worse. VASER will add more scar tissue. A proper assessment needs to differentiate to see if skin laxicity is it all contributing to contour, differentiate how much subcutaneous fat you still have on your chest and a clear assessment of how much glandular tissue you have. Did you have open surgery to surgically cut out the Glandler tissue or only liposuction? Simply shrugging the lack of results off to too much scar tissue and thinking that an ultrasound probe is going to reduce scar tissue is simplistic and will probably leave you disappointed. If you want to get anything resembling an assessment I suggest posting proper before and after pictures and including a description of what procedures you had done previously. This includes both previous procedures. If you don’t have before and after pictures then ask your surgeons to forward the ones they took. To get a proper second opinion you need an in person second opinion consultation which it sounds like you’ve had though I’m not buying into the magic wand of the VASER as being the treatment that’s going to make everything better. The most common lack of results in gynecomastia surgery is insufficient removal of glandular tissue or skin laxity from the history of weight fluctuations or age. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
