I recently had bbl my surgeon remove 10 lts of fat 5 from my stomach and 5 from my back I’m happy with my over all shape but I’m not happy with my stomach , is this bad lipo or is it loose skin ? It just looks really uneven I can’t pull the skin like it’s loose … can any one help me do I need a tt or is it just bad liposuction? Any answers would be greatly appreciated
Answer: Stomach Unevenness After BBL: Loose Skin or Bad Liposuction? Thank you for your question. It’s hard to provide a definitive answer without examining photos or doing an in-person consultation, but I can give you some general insight based on your description. Since you had a significant amount of fat removed from your stomach (5 liters), it’s possible that the uneven appearance could be due to several factors. It might be caused by residual fat left behind from uneven liposuction, or it could be an issue with loose skin that didn't contract properly after fat removal. In some cases, liposuction alone may not be sufficient for individuals with skin laxity, and a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) would be necessary to remove excess skin and achieve a smoother, flatter result. If you’re unable to pull the skin and it feels more firm than loose, it could lean toward uneven liposuction results. However, if you notice excess skin hanging or wrinkling, a tummy tuck might be a good solution to address both the skin laxity and provide muscle repair for a more toned appearance. I would recommend following up with your surgeon to discuss your concerns and possibly seeking a second opinion from another board-certified plastic surgeon. That way, you can explore the best options for achieving your desired results. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Uneven stomach after lipo It could be both. To make sure you need to be seen or send telling pictures. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: High-volume Liposuction Without pictures we cannot make an assessment or give you any quality answer. Results take time after surgery and patients should refrain from making any assessments within the first three months. Patients who need 10 L of fat removed probably would do better losing weight rather than having liposuction. Based on what you describe I’m guessing the ideal procedure for you would have been substantial weight loss followed by an extended tummy tuck. I say that without seeing pictures and it is my best guess. Consider reposting with proper before and after pictures. Follow up with your provider for any specific questions or concerns. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Liposuction, BBL, loose skin Dear Jen, Liposuction will remove volume. There is a several month healing process where skin may tighten and swelling resolves. Wearing compression garments, exercise and healthy eating will help optimize your results. If you see ripples in the skin or uneven results, loose skin not addressed at the time of lipo may be the issue. Pictures and history/ physical will help to fully understand what your needs are and figure out future steps to achieving your dream body! Best. DrBrecht Seattle, Wa

Answer: Loose skin of abdomen post high volume liposuction Hi and welcome to our forum! Unfortunately I did not receive any photos, so I can't comment upon your specific situation. Following a high volume (greater than 5 liters) liposuction, lax skin can be problematic. The skin is quite stretchable. If overstretched, however, the dermal elastic fibers may rupture, diminishing its elasticity. Like an old rubber band, it will lose its natural contractibility and will hang in loose folds if a significant volume of fat beneath the skin is removed. Under these circumstances, a secondary abdominoplasty may be required to remove the lax skin. Revisit your plastic surgeon. Best wishes...
