Will I have loose skin from Vaser Liposuction? (Photo)

Female Height: 165cm Weight: 98kg Age: 28 I’m concerned I could end up with loose skin if I have Vaser Liposuction. Could you please advise me on what I could expect? Also, do the scars fade enough to not be too noticeable? If so, roughly how long does it take to fade to that point? I’m half black and half white. This is concerning Liposuction of my abdomen, flanks, back and arms. Many thanks in advance

Thank you for your question regarding whether you will have loose skin after VASER liposuction of your abdomen flanks, back and arms. Based on your pictures and your history, I do think you will have loose skin. I believe even with the VASER technology you will have loose skin of your abdomen, flanks and arms. Your back may not have much loose skin based on your pictures. However, your abdomen, arms and flanks will be significantly improved with VASER liposuction. The question is whether you would be satisfied with a smaller abdomen with VASER liposuction and skin wrinkles and/or tummy tuck and arm lift. On your abdomen you have distended muscle and excess skin and fat. The VASER will take care of the fat but I do believe the skin will sag. In addition, the muscle on the abdominal wall needs to be sutured not suctioned. Therefore I do think your abdomen will distend after VASER liposuction. After examining your arms, you have excess fat which don't significantly tighten with the VASER liposuction technique. Your back should VASER liposuction and I do not think the back will be left with loose skin. In regards to the scars from liposuction they fade very well. The scars will take approximately two years to fade but will always be visible. There are skin bleaching creams which can minimize the scarring. Additionally there is the fraxel laser to also make the scar imperceptible. The VASER is very good for skin retraction. You can expect good results regarding skin The VASER is very good for skin retraction. You can expect good results regarding skin sagging. The scars are very short (1cm) and they fade very well. However, in your case, please note that there is some muscle relaxation that won’t be improved with the liposuction only.

Based on your photos, you are an excellent candidate for Lipo but after lipo, some type of skin tightening, either by Renuvion J-Plasma or skin cutting should be added for the best results.You would likely benefit from a high definition tummy tuck using high definition VASER liposuction. From your photos, I note a full abdomen, full flanks, full back, and full hips. There is a degree of fullness of the upper arms.
 Liposuction was designed to remove localized fat repositories. It is not a weight loss procedure as only 6-8 pounds of fat can safely be removed. From your height and weight information, your BMI is 36.0. 
BMI (body mass index equals weight in kg / square of height in meters) is one criterion to determine the anticipated results of a cosmetic surgery. You can find BMI calculators on the internet. If your BMI is greater than 30, the cosmetic result will not be optimal. If your BMI is greater than 35, your operative risk will rise. In our practice we recommend a BMI of less than 30. 
We recommend that you be at a healthy comfortable stable body weight at the time of surgery. The cosmetic effect improves with lower BMIs. 
We recommend a regimen of diet and exercise to reach a safe and healthy body weight. If not achievable, one may consider a bariatric procedure such as a gastric sleeve to achieve dramatic weight loss. It is now being performed as an outpatient procedure.
Adverse scarring of the small 5 mm liposuction incisions is unusual unless you have a previous history of thick scarring from previous traumas or surgeries.
Loose skin after liposuction may occur, especially if already somewhat loose, if there are stretch marks present, or if over-resection of fat was performed.
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon and / or bariatric surgeon for in-person evaluation and discussion.
