Thank you for your question, and it’s one I hear often from patients looking to refine their nose without looking “overdone.” The good news is that both a dorsal hump (bump) and a boxy or bulbous nasal tip are very common concerns that can be effectively and elegantly addressed with rhinoplasty, especially when performed with an emphasis on natural, harmonious results.

Based on your photos, you can have a nice improvement in your nasal tip and bridge with a well performed rhinoplasty. The steps appear fairly straightforward for someone who performs a lot of rhinoplasty surgery, so make sure you see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty, I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. In your case, the risks are somewhat low and you should be able to have an excellent result. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.

I actually think your nose is pretty straightforward and you are a good candidate., I suggest you get opinions from other surgeons. I don’t think your nose is particularly tricky for an experienced surgeon

Your nose can be successfully improved and you are correct in that only subtle changes are needed. It is likely that the surgeon you spoke with did not have sufficient experience in rhinoplasty.

Providing that you find an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who is supportive of your nose concept, you should go for it. You are a borderline candidate and not every surgeon rightfully thinks that improvement can be achieved. Good luck.

Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip support , among other maneuvers.
