One side of my nose, I’ve noticed within the past four years has gotten more puffer and droopy almost the tip has changed a lot. In my opinion. I have pictures from a couple years ago compared to now I’m about to be 21. my main issue is that this has only happened between the ages of 18 through 20. This didn’t happen through puberty and I have a feeling it’s just from a very stressful event that happened around three years ago, but even then my nose I feel looks different from a year ago completely just one side has completely gotten so much larger and lost the shape.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. A surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

If the tip of your nose has spontaneously widened, this could be from hypertrophy of the oil glands that live in the tip of your nose. We have seen cases of this, and it may respond to isotretinoin, or Accutane. In that regard, you may benefit from meeting with a dermatologist. The two cartilages that form the tip of your nose are broad and strong, and they make the tip appear wide, like the woman whose before and after photos I posted with this answer. You are also noticing some small-ish asymmetries between the two cartilages. Those asymmetries can be addressed during surgery, but not completely corrected.

Remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs -- particularly the work on the width of the tip -- require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. It's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. Be carful in selecting your surgeon.

Based on your series post photos, it is an acceptable anatomic variant of having different shape of either side of the nose, especially in the tip that is due to the lower lateral cartilage being different.
