Can I have local anaesthesia for columelloplasty and a lip lift? (Photos)

Yes I always do it under local and same is true for the lip lift. The procedures are quick and local anesthesia works very well. This makes the recovery fast and comfortable.

Hello and thank you for your question. You should separate rhinoplasty and lip lift into different procedures. Your rhinoplasty should be done under general anesthesia for the safest and best results. Based on your photographs, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Typically, a hanging columella is when there is excessive nostril show, on profile, along with an exaggerated curvature of the columella. You appear to have a bit of an over-rotated nasal tip appearance, which means that your tip is a bit high, and we can see a lot of your infantip lobule on front view, which maybe giving you the appearance that your columella is hanging. Since you overall appear to have a pleasing nasal appearance, you may wish to consider a permanent non-surgical nose job treatment to lower the tip of your nose several millimeters. If both procedures are relatively minor (such as a columella correction and a lip lift), they can technically be performed together under local anaesthesia with mild sedation. You would remain awake but relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure.
However, for nasal surgeries, we generally recommend general anaesthesia for both the patient’s and the surgeon’s comfort, as even small nasal adjustments can sometimes be felt under local anaesthesia. In contrast, a lip lift can safely and comfortably be performed under local anaesthesia alone without any problem.
