More tooth show - Do I need rhinoplasty or rhinoplasty plus another procedure to correct this? (Photos)

You might really like having the tip of your nose elevated. The tip is a bit wide, too, which makes sense -- the two cartilages that form the tip are also responsible for holding the tip *down*, making the nose appear longer. If the width is strong, often the length is strong, too.

But work on the tip of the nose is independent from the forces that control where the upper lip sits on the upper teeth during a smile. It might make sense mechanically -- if you push up on your tip, it may pull your lip upwards -- but the operation won't do the same thing that you're doing with your finger, and we wouldn't be able to tell you that it would expose more tooth during a smile.

I highly doubt a lip lift would help, either. The photos aren't very good views for evaluating your upper lip, but a lip lift is for someone with a *looong* upper lip, and from these photos, yours looks rather short to me!

If you decide to have your nose operated on, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs --complicated techniques to narrow and elevate your tip adequately -- require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise. It's much better to not have surgery than to have inexpertly-performed surgery. You have gto check out your surgeon very carefully.

Based on your up-close photos, you may indeed have a wide droopy tip, and a long nasal appearance. If you have severe dissatisfaction with the appearance of your nose, rhinoplasty surgery may be considered for achieving a smaller, narrower, and less distracting nasal appearance. That said, this in no way would increase the amount that your upper lip elevates with smiling. I wish I had a good suggestion for your smile, however, I hope these words are helpful.
