Is it possible to de-project the tip of the nose with surgery? (Photo)

Question

I had surgery just over six months ago on my nose, and I love the shape of the nose and the front. The only thing I don't love is the amount that the nose tip protrudes from my face from the side. Is it possible to deproject the nose without changing how the nose looks from the front or the shape of the tip?

Yes , with appropriate surgical technique the nose can be deprojected without changing the appearance of the nose from the front.  There is a period of swelling and the skin envelope needs to she k wrap to the smaller framework but this is a revision that can be predictably done.

Hi! First of all, remember that you are only 6mo from your surgery; you are still healing. There is definitely a possibility that what you feel as too much projection will come down bc the tip is the last place to lose all of that. That being said, I think your nose looks fine, and for that small amount of difference, I would strongly advise against a revision surgery as (1) it is unlikely you can control for something that small of a difference, (2) it will very likely change other parts of your nose even unintentionally.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you may benefit from a nasal tip deprojection revision to shorten your entire tip complex. You may be able to get this done as soon as eight months to one year postop depending on your anatomy. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
