Should I get my bone broken or leave it alone to get the best result? Iv seen a couple of surgeons that say I should break my bone to fix a wide nose? is that the best thing to do? The surgeon said I should get closed rhinoplasty, tip plasty and alaplasty. Or should I leave the nose bone alone and just get alaplasty and tip plasty?
Answer: Osteotomy Hello from Istanbul! Going by what you've shared and the photos, breaking the bone, or an osteotomy, seems necessary to achieve a balanced look with your new nose. Just doing the tip and alarplasty might not give you the harmonious appearance you're aiming for. I know the idea of "breaking the bone" can sound a bit scary, but it's done very carefully to ensure minimal impact on the bone and tissues, which means less swelling and bruising for you. If you're really looking to change your nose's appearance, it's important to communicate your goals clearly to your surgeon. They can then tailor a plan specifically for you. Definitely consider a face-to-face consultation to get a clearer picture of what to expect. Hope this helps!

Answer: I suspect osteotomies would lead to a more pleasing nasal appearance. Since you appear to have a wide nasal bridge appearance, if you're undergoing rhinoplasty surgery, having osteotomies performed for a narrower nasal appearance will not add significant pain or downtime to your procedure. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Nasal tip plasty verse full rhinoplasty: Nasal tip plasty verse full rhinoplasty: You appear to have a small dorsal hump. The pictures are not clear enough to tell if your bridge is wide, but if it is wide in addition to the dorsal hump then a full rhinoplasty with bridgework coupled with the nasal tip plasty would better suit your pretty female face according to most traditional aesthetic principles, And be in better harmony with a refined tip

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hi, there are different approaches during a rhinoplasty. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon who can examine you and discuss the surgical procedure and the post op recovery process.

Answer: Tip rhinoplasty vs full rhinoplasty Thank you for your enquiry and sharing your photographs. To a great extent, it depends want you wish to achieve with the surgery. In general, a somewhat narrower nasal bridge can be a way to emphasise the appearance of the eyes. Computer imaging and simulation can help you understand better your potential changes although it is fair to say that from the front view they are not as productive as the profile simulations. On the view from from the left hand side, the nasal bridge appears to have a small bump which is due to the asymmetry in the height of the dorsal aesthetic lines. It looks like the right dorsal aesthetic line is slightly higher. When the nasal bridge stays the same but the nasal tip is narrower, on the oblique view it will appear that your nasal tip is less projected even if it maintains exactly the same projection on true profile. As a result, on the view from your left hand side, it is likely to appear that your nasal bridge bump is somewhat stronger. If this is an element that you feel indifferent to, reduction in the width of the tip is appropriate. If you would like to maintain a straighter contour of the semi profile of the nose, correction of the nasal bridge shape would also be necessary.
