Hello! I have various kind of acne scars that I want to treat. I plan on getting subcision + prp and TCA cross. I know it takes around 1-2 weeks for the skin to flake off and heal. After that treatment is healed, I want to get a rhinoplasty. My question is whether it is okay to get rhinoplasty after getting those treatments. I only have 5 weeks of available downtime to get those procedures done before going back to work.
Answer: If your nose is bothering you a lot, please consider rhinoplasty first. Normal social activity may be performed as soon as one week after rhinoplasty surgery with artful concealer. We offer both rhinoplasty and acne scarring treatments in our practice, and we are not big fans of subcision, PRP, and fractionated laser. If you desire input from the experts here on real self about your acne scarring, you can consider asking a question with photographs. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can understand from your question we do not recommend such procedures around the nose for about 1 to 1.5 years after the rhinoplasty operation. Best Regards!

Answer: No restriction You could, in my opinion, do the acne treatments during the rhinoplasty procedure and heal concurrently (unless the issues are on your nose)

Answer: Acne scar treatment before or after rhinoplasty It is certainly acceptable to undergo facial acne scar treatment immediately before or after rhinoplasty procedure, as long as you're not doing any treatments on the skin of the nose itself right around the time of the rhinoplasty procedure. Choose your rhinoplasty specialist wisely due to the fact that this procedure is one of the most difficult to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery

Answer: Acne scars treatment before or after rhinoplasty? Whether to treat acne scars before or after rhinoplasty depends on various factors, including the severity of the acne scars, the type of rhinoplasty being performed, and the individual's overall treatment plan and preferences. Here are some considerations:1. Severity of Acne Scars: If the acne scars are severe and significantly affect the appearance of the face, it may be beneficial to address them before rhinoplasty. Treating the acne scars first can improve the overall facial aesthetics and provide a better foundation for the rhinoplasty procedure.2. Type of Rhinoplasty: The timing of acne scar treatment may also depend on the type of rhinoplasty being performed. If the rhinoplasty involves significant changes to the nasal structure, such as augmentation or reduction of the nasal bridge, it may be advisable to address the acne scars before surgery to ensure optimal results.3. Healing Time: Rhinoplasty typically requires a significant amount of healing time, during which the skin may be sensitive and prone to inflammation. Treating acne scars before rhinoplasty may allow for adequate healing time and minimize the risk of complications such as infection or delayed wound healing.4. Individual Preferences: Ultimately, the decision to treat acne scars before or after rhinoplasty should be based on the individual's preferences and goals. Some individuals may prioritize improving the appearance of their acne scars before addressing their nasal concerns, while others may prefer to undergo rhinoplasty first and then address any remaining acne scars afterward. It's essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can assess your specific situation and provide recommendations based on your needs and goals. They can help you develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses both your acne scars and nasal concerns effectively and safely.
