Would Morpheus8 be ideal for treating my jowls and marionette lines or should I consider a lower facelift? 47 y/o (photos)

Hi, Im Faye,I’m 47 & have a concern around my lower face (jowels/marrionettes) It’s noticeable in some lights more than others. There’s been some improvement with the treatments I’ve had ,namely….. Botox-DAOs Botox-platisma neck bands Filler between jowel area Cog threads (3years a go) no much change with those. I use tretanoin on my skin and vitamin c lotion /castor oil. Shall I try Morpheus 8 or go straight for a lift?. Thank you in advance Faye.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

In person exam is essential, as well as standard set of photos- all views -including profile. Based on limited photos, and history of Botox to address platysma bands and visible improvements  - it appears that you may benefit from facelift/neck lift +Platysmaplasty . Even though there're  variety of non surgical options available - they  will not be able to achieve the result of surgery. To maintain the best result after surgery - we recommend Sylfirm X- which is our preferred RF device . I suggest that you seek an experienced Board Certified PS and discuss your options in detail

Regarding radio frequency microneedling and focused ultrasound energy devices:  There isn't much upside and quite a bit of downside.  These include: 1) expense to result mismatch, 2) quite painful, usually performed while awake, 3) formation of deeper scar tissue that complicates a later facelift.  In fact, I have had patients that have had such procedures multiple times prior to seeing me.  These cases were universally complicated by dense deeper scar tissue similar to a poorly performed prior facelift.  I strongly recommend that you avoid such procedures and spend your money on a nice vacation.... or have a facelift.

One thing to consider would be a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. This will help with the marionette lines and the downturned corners of your mouth.
