Yes, injecting filler in the lower lip will help to increase the volume in this area, making the lips look more balanced. Your physician may choose to inject a little at a time and build this area up gradually to ensure a more cosmetically desirable outcome.
Most doctors will start with one-syringe to avoid overfilling. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO NovaThreads can also be used to improve shape and also provide lift. Fat or implants are a permanent alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. It will take more than 0.5syringes to achieve a 1:1.6 ratio if that is what you are after. I would start with 0.5 to 0.75 of a syringe, heal and then decide if you wish for more volume
Dear Thrifty708236,I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Indeed for caucasians, the 1 to 1.6 ratio is correct, and in your case, putting some filler in the lower lip would look fairly good. As a first timer, I'd start with 0.5ml of filler only into your lower lip. After 2 weeks, if its not sufficiently full, you can always add more. Most importantly, see an expert physician injector such as a dermatologist to optimize results and safety, and to minimize discomfort and downtime.
As a cosmetic dentist, doing lip fillers, I always assess the filler when smiling.you sent that photo which seems to show exactly what appears missing..IN A SMILE. I think even less than a .5 ml would do the trick. if you like the fullness of the upper, its a little too large, in my view, then add to lower to get more in the lower.I would also dissolve a little in the upper to get a better ratio. To get a nice ratio , by starting out with an overfill un the upper, you are chasing the wrong thing. the good ratio of upper to lower with what you have already on the top, throughs everything into the TOO BIG range and looks clownish rather than a nice enhancement.i would dissolve a little of the upper, and add to the lower, for a beautiful ratio and smile enhancement.
Hello and thank you for your question. It is always best to see you face to face for a consult and examination and in this case it's very hard to say how much you would require. It's always better to start small and build up over time. I hope that helps answer your question. Always seek an experienced and qualified medical professional for these treatments. Very best wishes
Filler can be used but likely will only be small improvement but can be done. the best is to reduce the keloid with surgery or injections and do fillers. lasers wont help the keloids much here. I would use daily hydration and plumping (see emeragecosmetics lip essentials kit). everyone can ...
I would schedule a consult with a board certified physician to first determine whether or not you need to have any filler dissolved. It's always best to start with a blank slate when injecting filler, especially in the lips where any inflammatory nodule may be visible. It is safe to have these...
I'm sorry you are having issues with your filler. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved by injecting hyaluronidase. You can wait for them to be metabolized naturally otherwise. The longevity of the product varies by patient and product. It will probably be several months after treatment...
