Based purely upon your history and symptoms, you may have developed a capsular contracture on your left side. Although relatively rare, compared to breast implants, properly placed intramuscular buttock implants have a less than one percent risk for capsular contracture. Capsular contractures can develop at any time, most commonly between 6 - 24 months postoperatively. Patients typically first experience a sensation of tightness, then +/- some perception of pain during pressure, such as sitting or lying on the implant(s). Occasionally, this can be managed with medications, but more frequently it requires surgical removal of the capsular contracture scar tissue lining the buttock implant pocket.

Please note that an extremely few number of board certified plastic surgeons specialize in buttock implants and even a fewer number are experienced at capsular contracture removal surgery. So, you may need to travel far and away from home to find this particular surgeon. Glad to help.
