Chances of re-stretching after areola reduction and implant reduction?

there is smaller chance of scar stretching if you are downsizing implants. Scar prevention begins in the OR during the surgery when I meticulously close wounds in multiple layers in order to reduce tension and reduce scars width. I tape my incisions during the early postoperative period to reduce micromotions of the tissues so the incision can heal earlier. I also use compression garments and later Biocorneum gel.

periareolar and indeed anchor scars do have a tendancy to stretch when there is added volume in the form of a new or larger implant. to a large extent this is down to individual patient biology. if you are downsizing or removing implant altogether I agree that scar stretch is much less likely. Some surgeons will use a permanent purse-string stitch and this is the best defence against areolar stretch BUT it has potential problems of its own which are being able to feel the stitch / knot or the stitch becoming infected.
