I am interested in getting rhinoplasty - looking to remove the bump on my bridge and make my nostrils smaller. Do you think this can be achieved? Also, I'm not sure if I have a slight deviation in my septum - I struggle to breathe when lying on my side. Additionally, how long does the bruising and swelling last?
Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos you have hump on the bridge and your nostrils are upward. Your deviation can be fixed during the rhinoplasty surgery. For get rid of this issues I can suggest you rhinoplasty surgery. Also for the nostrils you may need external graft. The healing process is due to your skin type it would be approximately 6 months. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: You may be a splendid candidate for rhinolasty for nostril narrowing, and profile deprojection. You appear to have thin nasal skin which may be more prone to show irregularities after rhinoplasty as compared to those with thicker skin types. Be sure to consult with a reputable rhinoplasty specialist. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty to remove bump and nostrils? Thank you for your question and pictures. Rhinoplasty surgery will be very beneficial for you. The hump can be removed, nostril size can be smaller, nasal wings can be narrower. These changes will give your nose a natural , more feminine look that will complement your facial features. I personally use open technique called Piezo. This technique allows us to make the process easıer with minimal bruising and swelling. Deviated septum be corrected during your surgery as well. Best wishes.

Answer: Candidate for rhinoplasty Hi Chlo98! Thanks for your question. At least from your photos, you are certainly a candidate for rhinoplasty. A surgical rhinoplasty would be able to lower your dorsum (remove the bump) and also de-rotate and de-project the tip of the nose so that your nostrils show less on both the front and side views. Also, with cartilage grafting and special maneuvers like an alar base excision (Weir excision), the nostril size can be decreased further and the ala can be better supported. Bruising after a rhinoplasty is nearly resolved at 1 week and almost always fully resolved at 2 weeks. Swelling can last anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks or longer depending on your anatomy and the extent of the surgery. I always counsel my patients that in some cases for primary rhinoplasty, the final "product" is really not visible until 1 year.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your questions and sharing your photographs. In your situation, the nostril show is mostly driven by the low position of the nostril sill. It would benefit from lifting slightly the upper lip and reducing the prominence of the base of the columella. It can be combined with a slight downward rotation of the nasal tip but this is not critical. Reducing the nasal bridge bump can be achieved through a variety of techniques and ultrasonic rhinoplasty tends to produce good results without the impression that the bridge has become wider. Treatment for the septal deviation is part of the rhinoplasty procedure to try and create an appearance of the nasal bridge and tip that is more symmetric. In your case, the nasal bridge appears to be slightly deviated to the left. In addition to management of septal deviation, it is possible to adjust the position of the lower turbinates to assist with the nasal airway.
