Hello Cute7275! Dr. Walter Joseph here from Beverly Hills, CA. I hope you're well. It appears that you likely had an open rhinoplasty, where an incision was made across the columella at the base of your nose. If there is any sort of step-off at the closure between the skin edges, a "notch" or "dent" can occur. Sometimes, these scars can remodel and any irregularities can improve/resolve over the course of 1 year, however, if there is still an indentation at the 12 month point, I would recommend that you return to your surgeon for a small revision under local anesthesia. Happy to comment or help further if needed!
Hello. Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, the photos that are submitted are difficult to see what you are referring to. I would recommend trying to re-take the photos in better lighting with a better camera (not the selfie camera on your phone). This may require someone to help take the photo for you. This way we can see better what you are trying to show us.
Did you have an "open" rhinoplasty, meaning an incision on the septum/columella of your nose? It appears so from the photos. If so, this may be the edge of the incision and can take time to settle. If it hasn't by 1 year, a minor procedure by your surgeon may help reposition the tissue to remove the notch.
It looks like you had an open rhinoplasty. That is just a small irregularity which could be fixed with a minor touch up. You should go back to your original surgeon who I’m sure can easily correct it
It is normal to have small issues scubas yours while the scars are healing. Make sure to show your surgeon what concerns you
No the photos demonstrate uneven suture of incision for open rhinoplasty. This must be re sutured under ical anesthesia. My fee $2,000. Best to virtual consult with.....
Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note a broadened depressed reddened scar involving the distal columella at the skin-mucosal junction, within the nostril. The surgery was only performed 6 months ago. The scars are still healing. They may be firm and reddened. This should fade and soften considerably over time as healing progresses. If the scar remains unfavorable at 12-18 months, consider scar revision.Best wishes...
Unfortunately, cartilage has memory. Revision should not be considered for at least another six months. An extensive open septorhinoplasty with outfracture of the left nasal bone and possible use of spreader grafts could improve both function and appearance but this would require internal...
Hi and welcome to our forum! That's quite a bit of surgery. Technically, it can be done at the same sitting. Each surgeon has developed their own unique protocol regarding surgical scheduling and the performance of concomitant surgeries (time constraints, your clinical status, etc.). I suggest...
The width of the tip of your nose is controlled by the two tip cartilages. Those cartilages can be modified to narrow the tip. The tip cartilages also control how *long* the nose is. Their strength holds the tip of the nose down, and often it's nice to elevate the tip a bit while we're narrowing...
