Hi I had chondrosarcoma in my sternum grade 1 that was removed in 2003. Does any surgeon know of any reason this could present a problem with me having a breast augmentation with lift? I've had no issues since it was removed
Answer: BA + BL If you had chondrosarcoma in your sternum that was successfully treated and removed in 2003, it should not necessarily preclude you from having a breast augmentation with lift procedure. However, it is important to disclose your medical history, including your prior diagnosis and treatment, to your plastic surgeon so they can evaluate your individual situation and determine if any special precautions or considerations are necessary. During the preoperative evaluation, your plastic surgeon will perform a physical examination and may recommend imaging studies, such as a mammogram or ultrasound, to assess the breast tissue and rule out any abnormalities. Depending on the extent of your prior surgery and any subsequent treatment, your surgeon may also consult with your previous treating physician to better understand your medical history and to ensure that your surgery is performed safely. Overall, it is important to have an open and honest dialogue with your plastic surgeon about your medical history and any concerns you may have. This will help ensure that you receive the appropriate care and achieve the best possible outcome. Best of luck !
