I've currently done two sessions 3 months apart (march + June) have another one scheduled in September and ive seen very small improvements but not as fast as I hoped or was led to believe or in areas I expected. I'm getting a but anxious? is it normal or should be patient and wait until after the 3td one to see the proper hair growth. I;m also taking vitruvian hair supplements and have been for a few months. id love some feedback?
Answer: PRP Hello, Prp is beneficial when you get it done every 2-3 months. You are doing it correct. Continue with the treatment and soon you will see the benefits

Answer: Time required before results Protocols vary as do results. Each of us is unique. Nonetheless, I personally prefer treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart in a serious of 4 to 6 treatments. I've seen some patients not respond until even a few months after the last session. Don't despair. Give it time. Remember, hair grows slowly and were trying to bring the near dead follicle back to life. That takes time as well. In the mean time, get to an Integrative or Functional Medicine physician to get your metabolic system and hormones checked. Make sure they are using Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. These types of physicians will get to the root cause of your hair loss and treat that. PRP is great, but it works a whole lot better when its' not fighting your own body. That being said, if you haven't seen hair in any given location for 5 or more years, you likely won't and need a transplant in those locations. Even so, you'll likely need to transplant fewer follicles. If so, you're still financially ahead. Wishing you the outcome you are hoping for. Warmly, Arbella Sarkis, MD

Answer: How Long Does it Take for PRP to work? There is considerable variation in protocols as well as results. Some providers use one treatment/month for 3 consecutive months, while others use just one treatment and still others use 5 treatments. The soonest I have seen results is 2 months while most show improvement at 3-4 months. Unfortunately some do not show any improvement even after 4 treatments. I expect you should see improvement (or not) at the 6th month. Please note that patients often do not appreciate the improvement until they examine the before/after pictures.

Answer: Results take a bout 7 to 8 months after PRP Thank you for your question. I understand that you are getting a series of three POROP injections and are not seeing results. I know that this approach is commonly being done, but it is not one I agree with. There area so many different ways that PRP is being dong. The technique is not standardized. In my experience three characteristics are associated with the highest rates of success. First the concentration must be 5X, secondly the PRP has to be activated, and third adding a matrix such as Acell. Our approach is to give one injection meeting these standards and then wait 7 -8 months to assess the response d. Some patients begin to show response at 4 months b ut the majority take longer.
