Pros: Permanent hair replacement, you can comb thru and not obviously fake unlike wigs. Cons: Very expensive, the pricing was like $4/single root. Hair density is not the same as natural normal non balding hair density. But you can always go back to your surgeon and have more sessions to achieve good hair volume, but this always depends on the number or how big is your donor area (this is the back side of ur scalp). I did it because I dont want to see myself so self conscious of getting bald.
I understand you had 3000 grafts harvested in a single session. In reviewing the pictures I can see that the harvesting was confined to the back of your head and sides behind the ears. I also can see that they went very high toward your crown and very low onto your neck. Given the surface area of excisions I think they took 25- 30 grafts per square centimeter, which is an aggressive harvest. The grafts taken low and high may be affected by further balding - I hope they told you this. You describe your self as having low density to begin with, so it is possible that they took almost half of the hair you had in this area. If they used small diameter punches and did not have a high transection rate, it is possible that the donor area will still look OK over time; if not, it will look sparse. Then there is the question of will all the grafts survive. It is going to take about 8 to 10 months for you to see the final result. Good news is that it seems to be healing well, so lets hope for the best. Good Luck.
Thank you for your question. I understand that you are getting a series of three POROP injections and are not seeing results. I know that this approach is commonly being done, but it is not one I agree with. There area so many different ways that PRP is being dong. The technique is not standardized. In my experience three characteristics are associated with the highest rates of success. First the concentration must be 5X, secondly the PRP has to be activated, and third adding a matrix such as Acell. Our approach is to give one injection meeting these standards and then wait 7 -8 months to assess the response d. Some patients begin to show response at 4 months b ut the majority take longer.
Yes it is safe to use this product at this point as long as you dont find that it causes any irritation of your skin
