Hi I have a line between my nostrils can you tell me what this is? It's always been there and I don't see it on anyone else. Can rhinoplasty help? I haven't had any surgery or anything on it. It's very defined even more so than it looks in the picture. Thanks
Answer: Line between nostrils The line that you are referring to is the space between your nasal tip cartilages. The nasal tip is made of two cartilages (lower lateral cartilages) which come together in the midline. Either you have thin skin and the division is apparent and/or you have cartilages which are separated apart. Rhinoplasty surgery can fix that. If that is your only concern (no other changes to the nose desired) then a small amount of filler can be placed to camouflage the line without needing to undergo surgery. Good luck. Best, Dr H

Answer: Rhinoplasty You have a form fruste cleft. It can be improved by filling the depression with perhaps, cartilage or fat. Rhinoplasty can address droopy tip, bulbous tip, dorsal hump, hanging columella, and wide nostrils, among other concerns.

Answer: Line between Nostrils A depressed line between the nostrils is caused by the outer angulation of the lower lateral cartilages which support the nostrils. The distance between them can be brought together with a stitch during a Tip Rhinoplasty or placing s little filler in that valley. If the line bows out, and on pushing on it it feels stiff, it is the leading edge of the septum and it too can be shortened during s Tip Rhinoplasty. Good LuckPeter Aldea MD

Answer: Rhinoplasty or fillers We have very limited view of your nose and based on that rhinoplasty or fillers will fix this. The case of this is separation of the lower lateral cartilages. Please see the link

Answer: I have always had a line in between my nostrils- what is this? Hello timetotransform,There are naturally two pieces of cartilage that start in the middle of your nose, help form the tip of your nose, and spread out over the sides of the nose. What you are seeing is the edges of those two cartilage structures because you have very thin skin. You can undergo a procedure to help camouflage them with rhinoplasty (although you would not remove them or your nose would collapse) although that won't necessarily completely get rid of them. The other option is to use fillers to make it less prominent, although that is temporary. The last option is now realizing that they are a normal part of anatomy but simply visible on you because your skin is thin and you do nothing about it. If you are contemplating doing anything, I'd recommend you consult with a facial plastic surgeon. I hope this helps and good luck.
