Hard movable lump at top of nose bridge 1.5 years after Rhinoplasty? (photos)

Question

2 weeks ago I noticed a lump at the top of my nasal bridge, slightly off to one side. It feels like a small ball. My doctor initially said it's probably a lipoma, but I saw a dermatologist today who felt it and immediately asked if I had an injury (so I told him about the rhinoplasty), then said it felt like cartilage. I'm concerned because it really seem to pop up suddenly. It's painless (when I move it around a lot I feel like I get a dull ache in the area). Could this be a result of my rhino?

Hello,In all likelihood it is an on-lay graft that was placed at the top of the bridge, an area known as the radix. I usually stays affixed in its pocket, but may have been inadvertently released by trauma. It is concerning your surgeon though it was a lipoma, as that would be a reportable case because it has never been described for that location.Best of luck!

Over the upper third of your nose, there is only bone; so unless your surgeon placed cartilage at the top of your nose, it is not likely cartilage; if he did graft cartilage over the upper aspect of your nose, then it is cartilage that has become unstable/infected; I would follow up with your surgeon. You can always get an imaging study if you can't figure it out following discussion with your surgeon.

This may be  related to your rhinoplasty but it would be very helpful to know exactly what was done at the time of your original operation.
