Are my breast lift/implant scars normal for 14 weeks post-op? (Photo)

Question

I had 300cc high profile implants 14 weeks ago (3 and a half months) I hare my scars! When i wear a bra i can still see them as they are very wide...and red. I have been massaging bio-oil on every morning and night for 1-2 minutes? Should i be using something different? Also, do my boobs look normal for this stage? I've started sleeping on my side, is this ok? I haven't been massaging my breasts much either but worried that maybe i should, do you think at this stage post op it's beneficial?

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars.

Thanks for your inquiry and pictures.  You have a nices result with appropriate healing scars.  Ask you surgeon to recommend a scar regimen that includes the active ingredients of steroids, silicone, and Vitamin E.  Good Luck.

to say that you are still early on healing process, it is too soon to determine
how your results are going to be, per now, they look very nice and beautiful,
you can have one bigger than the other, it is normal and that can happen for
the first 3 months until your implants have settle in. I recommend you to wait
and keep using your post surgical bra, that will help you with the shape and

Great questions, and from the looks of your pictures, you seem to be healing well and as expected. Everyone's scars heal differently depending on the pigment in their skin. Some can take up to a year or so to fade to their maximum level. Unfortunately this is not something that can be rushed. You just have to wait on your body.

I'm sorry to hear about your concerns regarding your scars.  However, from your photos, your scars appear to be quite normal for this stage of healing.  Over time they should continue to improve and fade, but this process may take another 6 to 12 months.  Topical silicone scar treatments, topical or injectable cortizone, and moisturizers with sunblock and hydroquinone can help speed the process.  Discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
