Would filler help minimize the appearance of nasolabial folds? (photos)

From the photos provided, there appears to be significant volume deficit in the cheek regions, which accounts for the prominence of the nasolabial smile lines, as well as the development of the marionette lines at the corners of the mouth. Quite likely, the use of a robust HA filler to the cheeks to address the volumetric deficit would not only contour a more oval, heart-shaped face, but would diminish the smile lines (likely without even the need to directly inject them) and may similarly improve the downturned angles of the mouth (also without much need for direct treatment). As to which kind of physician to consult for treatment, bear in mind that nearly 95% of all nonsurgical rejuvenation techniques, such as Botox and fillers, were developed by cosmetic dermatologists who later taught them to other core specialties, such as general, facial and ophthalmic plastic surgeons. I personally have routinely been performing filler facelifts for well over twenty years. So, these days you have your choice. I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. Instead of just putting filler into the nasolabial fold, I would start with augmentation of your cheek. You appear to have some midfacial volume loss. Supporting this can help balance the face and soften the nasolabial folds at the same time. Certainly lip filler can be done at the same setting.

From your photos it appears you are a good candidate for dermal fillers. The treatment should help soften the appearance of the nasolabial folds. I encourage you to consider adding a bit to the cheeks as well to enhance facial contours. Seek treatment from an experienced injector.
