I am a male with short chin but good sagittal projection! Is it possible to increase the vertical height of chin by 5mm using fillers! If not what is the maximum vertical height achieved by fillers?

Answer: Chin height increase The only way to vertically increase the height of the chin is with a vertically lengthening genioplasty. I also perform chin implant surgery but again, chin implants do not provide adequate vertical lengthening. Fillers are ineffective for length because of all the anatomical attachments (muscles, periosteum, ligaments). If you truly need vertical lengthening (5 mm or more) a vertical lengthening genioplasty is best. The surgery is performed in the office with sedation anesthesia and takes about an hour. There is no change in your bite and you do not need braces.

Answer: Chin enhancement It all depends on any number of situations. The amount of vertical height which can be achieved depends on the density of the Phibro fatty muscular interface over the chin. The denser it is, the harder it is to expand. Number two if the chin is naturally square and short, that is going to be harder to expand vertically to the point where the jawline will appear tapered as it blends into the chin. Finally, if your bone is naturally short, with a significant amount of unstable, soft tissue overlying it, one has to think twice before injecting, because one can make create the appearance of a “Witch’s Chin“ which is doing nobody any favors. Of course, all of this depends on an in person consult; even then, the injector will not 100% know for sure until they initiate the “acid test“ – in other words, injecting, a reversible, filler and see how it goes. All the best, and good luck ! Randal Haworth
