Over 1 year after ledgecotomy, what can be done to minimize bulging appearance above scar line? (photos)

I saw a surgeon and had a section of skin and fat remove, you can see my before pics on my profile. I was 6 mo post partum from a c section and very thin but had a small shelf. Now, I have recovered almost a year and a half since scar revision which he called a “ledgectomy” but I still have a bulging area. It appears above my flat scar line and when I pull around the area it appears adherent. How can I get rid of this? Please help!

It is very difficult to see how much bulge you have, from these photos. In general, selective liposuction of bulging areas will help to shape the bulge and release scar adhesions. Hope this helps.

After pregnancy, the abdominal wall is often damaged, particularly with a c-section performed. The weakness of the abdominal wall from below the umbilicus is what is causing the bulging. If you are not planning future pregnancies, you would benefit from tummy tuck with mesh.

i encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation.  The contour concern may be from muscle wall laxity which is common after pregnancy.  A tummy tuck could address it if that's the cause.

An examination is needed to be certain, but I think liposuction could be very helpful. Your previous surgeon was obviously not a plastic surgeon, and "ledgectomy" is not a medical term.

Thank you for your inquiry and photos.  Never heard of a 'ledgectomy' and perhaps this term was coined by your surgeon.  All Plastic Surgeons have dealt with the adherent C Section scar causing a shelf like appearance and we routinely manage this with surgery.  It appears that you may have developed excess scar tissue just above the flat scar or your surgeon may not have tapered the upper flap when doing your surgery.  I recommend that you follow up with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon if you have not already.  Good luck.

Most people have a subcutaneous fat thickness that gradually becomes thin in the groin area and is that it’s thickest around the mid abdomen.
Your body anatomy and contour look normal with the exception of a well healed scar.
If you want a tight flat abdomen, then consider having a tummy tuck.
