On average, 4-6 months. Typically, an injector should use Belotero Balance to fill fine lip lines. This filler is a relatively thin filler, which allows it to be placed quite superficially in the tissue while still integrating nicely and smoothly. However, due to this feature, it won’t last as long as some of the other thicker fillers. A thick filler would not be appropriate to use to fill fine, superficial lines because it would be too hard and you would feel lumps in the skin. Filler is metabolized by the body and the speed at which it wears off is in part related to the movement in the area. Lips are often moving, talking, eating, ect. So filler in the lips and around the mouth doesn’t last as long as filler, say, in the cheeks, for example. One way to potentially extend the life of filler in lip lines would be to also get a neuromodulator (Botox, Xeomin) in the upper lip. This temporarily reduces the muscle movement in the area and thus might extend the life of the filler a bit. This also helps to give a bit more pink showing on the upper lip which is great if you have a thin upper lip.
