Hello Its been a year since I had breast augmentation. My breast tissue feels cold and sometimes numb around the areola. Is this normal? I was a b cup and I received 450 cc
Answer: Change in sensation Change in sensation is common after breast augmentation and typically will slowly return to normal over several months. If there is no change after one year the change may be permanent. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon.

Answer: Implants Choosing large implants has stretched your tissue and nerves so you have some numbness and change in temperature sensation. This will probably remain, and is a risk of the surgery.

Answer: Breast Augmentation 1 year post-op and breast tissue feels cold and numb around areola - is this normal? Hello @Cool494643 thank you for your question. Almost always in a surgery there are predetermined times. We speak that the inflammatory process can reach almost 3 months and in those three months it is very normal to feel discomfort, burning sensation, burning with some movements, some kind of feeling of limitation but the healing process is maintained until the year. It is important to be clear that there are some sensations that may be normal but it is essential to talk to your specialist. Best regards!

Answer: Cold and numb breast Dear Cool494643, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breast Augmentation 1 year post-op and breast tissue feels cold and numb around areola - is this normal? Thank you for your question. After an augmentation the nerves of the skin are stretched as a result of swelling and the increased volume of the implants. This stretching irritates the nerves which can cause a number of different nipple and breast skin sensations including increased/decreased sensitivity or a burning/cold feeling. These normally resolve spontaneously given enough time but in some instances they can be permanent. Mention these issues to your surgeon during your appointments so they can track your progress with time.
