Answer: Breast Augmentation 1 year post-op and breast tissue feels cold and numb around areola - is this normal? Thank you for your question. After an augmentation the nerves of the skin are stretched as a result of swelling and the increased volume of the implants. This stretching irritates the nerves which can cause a number of different nipple and breast skin sensations including increased/decreased sensitivity or a burning/cold feeling. These normally resolve spontaneously given enough time but in some instances they can be permanent. Mention these issues to your surgeon during your appointments so they can track your progress with time.

Answer: Implants Choosing large implants has stretched your tissue and nerves so you have some numbness and change in temperature sensation. This will probably remain, and is a risk of the surgery.
