Thank you for your question. You should get a prescription for pain medicine from your doctor but you can always tale Tylenol extra strength, just don't mix it with any other pain medications. You can apply aquaphor to the insition site once the bandages has fallen and 3 weeks after the surgery you can start with silicone sheets to help with the scar appearance, Just make sure it is 100% silicone product. You need to be very carful with the movement of your arms, specially lifting your arms so a bra that zips on the front with no underwire is always best .
Hi & thanks for your question.Your surgeon and his/her staff will go over your pre/post op care with you. You will be given instructions to follow post surgery. Any questions or concerns reach out to your surgeon. Best wishes!
Thank you for your question. After a breast augmentation, I recommend wear a soft, supportive sports bra for the first few months to allow for the majority of the swelling to diminish. In addition, most of my patients will use scar cream to aid in diminishing the appearance of their scars. I recommend biocorneum which is a silicone based gel that you can find on Amazon, but any silicone based product will work fine.
Thank you for your question. Generally speaking, after breast augmentation usually the first week requires antibiotics and pain meds. This will help with the pain and prevention of any infection that can affect how the scars heal. After this we tend to tell our patients to wear a soft sports bra that zips in the front and no under wire for 4 weeks. Depending if the implants are sitting too high we show our patients how to massage the implants down otherwise it can heal that way. After 3 weeks of scars healed nicely, we recommend you start silicone gel tapes to the area. you should wear sunscreen to protect your scars especially in the summer months.
Your surgeon should go over all the details about what you will need during recovery. Typically you will be prescribed pain medication to help keep you comfortable. Most patients will wear a sports bra or a surgical bra during recovery to help support the healing tissues. Vitamin supplements should be discussed with your surgeon as opinions vary. Common supplements used are arnica and bromelain which help with bruising and swelling.
