Is dry and flaking skin normal after breast augmentation?

This is very common after breast augmentation and is worse when the breast skin is very tight. This will generally resolve without consequence in about 1-2 weeks.Congratulations on your new breasts!

Thank you very much for your question.Yes, what you are experiencing is quite common.  I recommend a good moisturizer for the skin.  I would keep the moisturizer away from your incision though for the time being.  Regarding the type of moisturizer, I recommend contacting your surgeon.  They likely carry something in the office that they recommend you use.  Best of luck!

Thank you for submitting this question.  It is very common to have some skin flaking and dryness post-operatively.  Your skin has been stretched out and will have some tension.  Additionally, your breasts may have some irritation related to the dressings and surgical bra used.  Be sure to let your plastic surgeon know of this and find out what he/she recommends.  Often times, a good moisturizer will help.
